Pražmo is not big village, laying in beautiful landscape of Beskydy Mountains in Morávka River valley. The beauty of local scene and interest on Beskydy’s mountaineer life brought to this place a Silesian poet Petr Bezruč. He mentioned Pražmo in several poems. On local cemetery is sepulchred his Maryčka Magdónová also. The village is one of the youngest villages in area around Beskydy. The village was found as the only one by a foundation charter in 1777 by that time Frydek’s manor owner a count Jan Nepomuky Pražma.
The administration territory has size 355 ha. The village has 969 inhabitants since 1-st of January 2006. Local sections are: Roveň, Vilčunky (also Vilčonky), Gruníky, Nadkostelí, Zlaň and Obora.
The village is member of : Association municipalities of river-basin Morávka and The Towns and Villages association.

Attainability
- Road: turn to Morávka in Dobrá from route of 1-st class E462 Frýdek-Místek - Český Těšín, or Frýdlant nad Ostravicí - Janovice (Bystré) - Krásná - Pražmo.
- Bus transport: from Frýdek-Místek (16 km) through Dobrá (9 km), or Frýdlant nad Ostravicí - Pržno - Janovice (Bystré) - Krásná - Pražmo (14 km).
- Railway service: to Frýdek-Místek, trail no. 322 Frýdek-Místek - Český Těšín, stop Dobrá (9 km), or to Frýdlant nad Ostravicí (14 km), trail no. 323 Ostrava - Valašské Meziříčí.
Village history
At that time Frydek’s manor owner Jan Nepomuky a count Pražma wants to be written into the area history so in 1777 established village called by his name.
Village called "Pražma" or "Praschma" for long time but this name was officially changed to "Pražmo" in 1922.
Pražmo has arisen on area of Morávka village and Raškovice village, which already existed at the time. The boundary was probably also boundary of manor’s deer-park. A count Pražma bestowed the leaves scrabbling right to his subjects in the section of manor’s deer/park which was fir-beech wood at that time.

According to names of first Czech colonists is evident that the new found village was purely Czech.
Inhabitants were working in wood and in agriculture, during winter time were working on looms.
Sights
Old wooden church was pull down in 1875 and at that place is stony cross. In the village are st. Jan Nepomucký church and memorial, chapel "U Motyčků" and devotional pillar near by cemetery.
Sport
Pražmo is the starting point to the heart of Moravia-Silesian Beskydy for tourists. Visitors can go to East to boundary edges with Slovakia or to South to Lysá hora foothill (1323 m). Cyclist can use many of tracks. Cross country skiers can use many of trails connected on Beskydy edges.
